Little Italy is a funky neighborhood of San Diego that is located in the downtown sector. The neighborhood was once mainly a fishing neighborhood made up of Portuguese and Italian immigrants. Now, the neighborhood houses residential spaces, restaurants, and multiple shopping venues.
Mercato

Piazza Basilone

Firefighter Museum
This family friendly museum was founded in 1962. It is located in what was once the San Diego Number 6 fire station. Visitors can rent this venue, which has a fully functioning kitchen. Some of the hottest display items include a piece of steel from the World Trade Center and a horse drawn steam engine.
